The Sision Primary School Offers Potatoes to Run2gether as a Sign of Thanks

,

Working together with the the local community in Kiambogo has always been especially important to us at Run2gether.

Our cooperation can perhaps best be seen with the two primary schools and the one secondary school in the region. For example, of the 125 children we currently sponsor, 59 of them attend the Kiambogo Primary School and 19 the Sision Primary School – a school we just started a partnership with last year.

The support we provide comes in the form of financing the school fees for the children and the wages for the teaching aides. We also undertake structural projects. Our most recent one was to wire the Kiambogo Primary School with electricity.

A couple weeks ago, the children and teachers of the Sision Primary School visited us at our camp. The roughly 400 children were on their best behavior and brought along a little something for Run2gether. Each child brought 2-3 homegrown potatoes. Multiply that by 400, and the result was several overflowing sacks of potatoes! This gift as a sign of the close bond between Run2gether and the school was even more heartwarming considering that the families of these children already have so little to live on.

We’d thus like to thank all of our sponsors and supporters of Run2gether. Without your tremendous support, none of this would be possible!

Sincerely,
Your Run2gether Team
