Running your own race on point is one thing, setting a steady pace for someone else’s success is another. The role of a pacemaker has to be learned and trained as well.
At the S7 Marathon, the best pacemakers from the run2gether team will put themselves at the service of the international elite field.
We are happy about great news from Kenya that all pacemakers of the S7 Marathon have already received their vaccination this week!

We have already introduced Charles and Philimon to you. We want to describe the qualities of the following athletes:

Joel Kipkenei MELLY 🇰🇪

Joel Kipkenei MELLY

Joel Kipkenei MELLY

When Austrian top athlete Valentin Pfeil looks back to his 2:12h marathon best time in Vienna in 2019, a faithful, slim companion in orange and black dress will surely always come to his mind: Joel Kipkenei MELLY.
Until Km 35 he stayed by his side and there is no question: this man can be a top pacemaker and therefore the right man for the way to Tokyo!
Joel started as a 3000m steeplechaser and is now focusing more and more towards the marathon distance.
Joel holds a half marathon best of 62:25min (Milan 2018) and we look forward to seeing him make his marathon debut in Europe even after pacing at the S7 Marathon!
But for now, the full focus is on the S7Marathon! So take your chance and follow Joel to your last minute ticket to Tokyo!

Teresiah Kwamboka OMOSA und Dickson Simba NYAKUNDI 🇰🇪

Our running couple Teresiah Kwamboka OMOSA and Dickson Simba NYAKUNDI will also be at the start of the S7Marathon to support all top athletes in the best possible way!
These two are among the best runners on our team and impressively manage to balance family and professional sports. They live and train during the current pandemic in Kisii close to Lake Victoria. Simba leads a very strong training group there, the “Lions”! The pandemic is extremely bitter for both of them, as they are probably at the peak of their performance so far.
In his last stay in Europe in 2019, Dickson won both the half marathon in Genova and the one in Turin. In Cremona, he set his personal best with 62:11! Teresiah is also currently in top shape shown not least by her performance in our last virtual 10km race, which she won in 31:56min!
We are happy that both of them will be at the S7Marathon to lead our men’s and women’s fields to Tokyo!

Stay tuned for more
