Abdi Hakin Ulan
2001 kam Abdi Hakin Ulad als Flüchtling von Somalia mit seiner Tante nach Dänemark. Heute ist er dänische Staatsbürger und der beste Langstreckenläufer seiner neuen Heimat. International hat er mehrfach schon die dänischen Farben vertreten. 2016 lief er bei der Halbmarathon-EM sogar auf Platz 5. Inzwischen hat er seine Bestzeiten auf 62:15min (Valencia 2018) und 2:11:03 (Fukuoka 2019) verbessert, sich für Tokio qualifiziert und damit seinen Platz in der europäischen Laufspitze zementiert. Wir freuen uns, dass Abdi bei uns den S7 Halbmarathon bestreiten wird!
In 2001, Abdi Hakin Ulad came to Denmark as a refugee from Somalia with his aunt. Today he is a Danish citizen and the best long-distance runner in his new homeland. Internationally, he has already represented the Danish colors several times. In 2016, he even ran to 5th place at the European Half Marathon Championships. In the meantime he has improved his best times to 62:15min (Valencia 2018) and 2:11:03 (Fukuoka 2019), qualifying for Tokyo and cementing his place in the European running elite. We are delighted that Abdi will be competing in the S7 Half Marathon with us!
Teresa Hrochova
Tiefschläge und Höhenflüge liegen im Sport oft nah beieinander. Über den Sommer bereitete sich Teresa Hrochova auf ihren Jahreshöhepunkt, die Berglauf-WM in Lanzarote vor. Aufgrund der Pandemie musste diese aber leider bekanntermaßen abgesagt werden. Innerhalb von 4 Wochen stellte sie ihr Training um, fuhr nach Gydina zur Halbmarathon-WM und glänzte dort mit einer neuen PB von 72:13min. Deutliche Ansätzen über ihre Vielseitigkeit als Läuferin, nun wird sie ihr Marathondebüt beim S7 Marathon feiern.
Ihre Ergebnisse sprechen für sich: Silber bei den tschechischen Meisterschaften über 3000m Hindernis, aktuelle nationale Berglauf- Cross-und Halbmarathonmeisterin, Vize-Weltmeisterin im Berglauf 2019 im Team… Eine beeindruckende Liste! Logisch, dass bei diesem Potenzial das Ziel beim S7Marathon nur die Olympiaqualifikation sein kann!

Lows and highs are often close together in sports. Over the summer, Teresa Hrochova prepared herself for her annual highlight, the World Mountain Running Championships in Lanzarote. Due to the pandemic, however, this unfortunately had to be canceled. Within 4 weeks she changed her training, went to Gydina for the Half marathon World Championship and shone there her a new PB of 72:13min. Clearly showing her versatility as a runner, she will now make her marathon debut at the S7 Marathon.
Her results speak for themselves: Silver at the championships over 3000m steeplechase, current national mountain running cross and half marathon champion, vice world champion in the Mountain Running 2019 in the team… An impressive list! Logically, with this potential, the goal of the S7Marathon can only be the Olympic qualification! We are happy to support this great athlete on her way to Tokyo!
Rene Masser
Nein, mit den ersten Rängen und dem Kampf um ein Olympiaticket wird er wohl nichts zu tun haben. Doch als schnellster gemeldeter “Steirer” über die Marathondistanz gebührt Rene Masser auf jeden Fall auch ein wenig Aufmerksamkeit. Mit seinem Start wird der 37 jährige Lehrer vom running Team Lannach die lokale Marathonszene vertreten und versuchen beim S7Marathon seine Marathon-PB von 2:33:17 (Florenz 2019) zu unterbieten. Das Potenzial dazu hat er mit einer Unterdistanz-PB über den Halbmarathon von 72:54min sicher. Was seine Vorbereitung betrifft hat der New York Marathon-Starter von 2017 allerdings einen interessanten Weg gewählt: so ist Rene gestern beim Wings for Life run tatsächlich 50,04km gerannt! Respekt zu dieser tollen Leistung und einem 37. Rang weltweit! Sollte es nun beim S7Marathon noch eine neue PB geben, wäre es wohl das perfekte läuferische Frühjahr für den ehemaligen Triathleten. Wir freuen uns dass Rene zu uns kommt und die Steiermark beim S7Marathon vertreten wird!
No, he will probably have nothing to do with the first places and the fight for an Olympic ticket. But as the fastest registered “Styrian” over the marathon distance, Rene Masser definitely deserves some attention. With his start, the 37-year-old teacher from running Team Lannach will represent the local marathon scene and try to undercut his marathon PB of 2:33:17 (Florence 2019) at the S7Marathon. He certainly has the potential to do so with a sub-distance PB over the half marathon of 72:54min.As far as his preparation is concerned, however, the 2017 New York Marathon starter has chosen an interesting path: yesterday Rene actually ran 50.04 k at the Wings for Life World Run! Respect to this great performance and a 37th place worldwide! Should there now be a new PB at the S7Marathon, it would probably be the perfect running spring for the former triathlete. We are happy that Rene will join us and represent Styria at the S7Marathon!
